These directions are written primarily with UI7 in mind, but are essentially the same for UI5.

This plugin for MiCasaVerde Roku smart home hubs allows control of Roku Devices from the Vera dashboard and in scenes. Some of the supported functions are below however, not all Roku models have support for each of these functions. You’ll have to test which ones work on the model of Roku you have.

  • on/off
  • volume up/down/mute
  • launch or install applications
  • search for and launch content
  • change input
  • query active application
  • basically whatever is on your remote

Installation Instructions

Before installing the Roku Control plugin, make sure your Roku device is powered on. It must have a known, static IP address.

Once the plugin is installed, a new device called Roku Control will be created automatically.

Select the newly installed device, then click the “Advanced” tab.

In the field labeled “ip” enter the IP address of your Roku device. Once the change has been saved, click “New Service” then “Reload Engine”. This will restart the luup engine.

Once the luup restart is complete, go back to the Roku Control device and click on the “Apps and Update” tab. Click “Force Update of Device Info.” This will poll your Roku for all its information.

Once this step is complete, you may change the device name and assign a room if you desire.
